JIN — JAPAN INBOUND NEXUS

Understand the market. Shape the fit. Test your next move.

JIN is CRTM's product-market fit service for businesses preparing to enter Japan. It brings together research, proposition design, small-scale validation and market-entry support, with Kanaz Holdings coordinating Malaysia-side preparation through its collaboration with CRTM.

Starting with a consultation

Begin with up to two complimentary consultations with the Malaysia–Japan team to discuss your business, readiness and research needs. Session scheduling and the scope of any further engagement will be agreed with you. Subsequent services are chargeable and scoped separately.

What product-market fit means

Product-market fit connects what your business offers with what a target customer needs and values. In this programme, the work is to investigate that fit in Japan, refine the proposition and test the response before deciding how to move forward.

  • Product or Service (company strengths, technology and features — what you offer)
  • Market Needs (challenges and needs — what the market needs)
  • Customers & Value (value sought by Japanese consumers and buyers — what customers value)
When all three overlap, customers choose you without a price argument, repeat purchases grow, and expansion into further channels gets easier. When they do not, the usual symptom is a good product that will not reorder.

Six stages, and the loop back.

JIN is drawn as a cycle rather than a line because what the proof of concept and early sales reveal feeds back into product analysis. A business rarely passes through once.

  1. 01 Product Analysis (strengths, features, challenges)
  2. 02 Market Research (customers and competitors)
  3. 03 PMF Design (redesign for the market)
  4. 04 PoC (small-scale validation test)
  5. 05 Japan Market Entry (entry strategy and structure)
  6. 06 Sales Support (sales and customer support)
Each stage produces evidence that determines whether the next one is worth running. Sales and customer support close the loop by returning market feedback to product analysis.

JIN FAQs

Is JIN the same as the NipponTrade report?

No. The report is a digital research product. JIN covers a wider, separately scoped service pathway that may involve primary research, market testing and operational support.

Do I need to purchase the report before enquiring about JIN?

You can enquire about JIN directly. If you already have a NipponTrade report or other research, share it as context for the discussion.

Are all twenty-one service items included?

No. The team determines an appropriate scope with you. Fees and responsibilities are specified before paid work begins.

Does the programme guarantee entry or sales?

The programme supports preparation, validation and execution. Results depend on market response and the circumstances of the business; sales, approvals and partner acceptance are not guaranteed.

Who carries out work in Japan?

The documented collaboration positions CRTM as the Japan-side execution lead, with specialist organisations involved where required by the project scope.

How long does the programme take?

There is no single duration. Timelines depend on the selected research, testing and implementation activities.
